Testimonials

Below are some kind words that our clients have had offered about their experience with Vietnam Motor Bike Tours.

From Danny

Jason, what can I say .......Unbelievable trip and experience.
I have nothing but praise for yourself and your team.
The trip was brilliant - yes we had a mishap on the 2nd corner - only small, and yes we had the misfortune of the riding in the edge of the typhoon.
Jack has recovered well, spoke to him yesterday and sitting on Cable Beach (Broome) wounds are healing well, insurance has covered all costs. He also has said the accident is just part of the adventure.
The tour:
Great crew - Bao and TiTi do a fantastic in keeping traffic on the road away from the bikes, they control the speed well. There is no doubt they adjusted the strategy after the accident. Cang (Mechanic) and Hiew (driver) were fantastic support. The support van made life so much easier. Loan (the add-on) was invaluable in the end, her support of Jack immediately after the accident, and then her support of myself at the hospital as a translator made every bit of any additional cost worth it. They all wore the shirts and to our group became part of the team.
The Bikes - perfect, although some of the faster group would have liked more speed, that may have caused more issues, they had enough power to enjoy the ride safely.
The Route - awesome, although we had 3 good days of rain, the scenery and countryside was spectacular. The contrasting of the beach to the rice patties, to the rolling hills - we saw it all - no we didn't, I am sure there is so much more to see.
The Accommodation - again perfect. A good mixture of 3-4 star along with some lower level, (Lak Lake) and guest house (Khom Dac) all added to the experience. Dalat was perfect for the treatment of Jack - best hotel, house doctor - not that you plan for that......Kom Tum - riding bikes in through the foyer and storing in the Ballroom (who would believe it).
Disappointments - not many at all and not under your control. Did not see much of Nha Trang at the start due to weather and heading off the next day. Hoi An - finishing in the afternoon and flying out 1st thing the next morning stopped us seeing either of the 2 beach towns.

Once I get through all the photos and the video and the collation I will send a copy.

I have traveled a little - but seeing Vietnam on the back of a bike is the best travel experience I have ever had.

So much so - I want to do again.
I am now looking at a return trip, smaller and different crew (6-8max) and sometime this year. That's if you will have me back.
Will over the next 2 weeks look at time frame and destination.

Again thank-you for the wonderful time, organization and support over the past 12 months.

Cheers and talk soon

Danny

From Danny

Jason, everyone had a fantastic time, even with the mishaps - that's bike riding.....
Let me know the additional cost for Map (Loan) - the boys were extremely thankful for her support of Jack and definitely had calming effect on them all.
I am collating all the photos and preparing the DVD over the next month, will send you a copy.
I have no doubt I will return with another group (8-10) sometime in the future. I fell in love with Vietnam and its people - I have never experienced a holiday like it, how can you explain to people what you saw, the only way is to show them.
Thank you for the professionalism of your business and staff

From saar sapir

Hi there Jason & Ben

well, we're back in Israel, getting back to routine...

I wanted to thank you for such a wonderful tour you guys organized for us!
the tour was a big success. of course I was there with them to see and feel it, but even the official feedbacks are excellent.

specially I want to mention the wonderful and professional staff\guides\assisstants... Bao & the team. they did a remarkable job on the leading\guiding professional assisstance, but even more so on the service side - with a true sence of serving the clients with all they needed and more, while doing it with a smile always. it is hard to find such team - well done! they are a big part of the success.

I appologize, again, for any misbehaviour. it's no excuse, but like I told you Jason, doing it in such a way of practically handing almost ALL the responsibility to a stranger... was hard and frightening, and that's why I was so edgy on everything. I didn't know what I was going to get...
I'm glad to say I got more than I expected :)

here are some of the pics I uploaded. these are from my camera only. one of the pillions is a photographer, and another rider is an "advance amature"... so they have thousands they need to filter and work on. I'm sure we'll have quite a few other good shots.
you're more then welcome to use them if you want.
if it's the bikes only - be my guest.
if it's with ppl in them - please let me know before you use them.

next tour - somewhere Jan-Feb next year. you can highlight in your diary :)

send my warm regards to Bao & team
Cheers mate,

 From Kim

Hi Jason,

I've written up a blog of the Cycle Torque tour

http://bikingthroughvietnam.wordpress.com/

Thanks for a fantastic holiday. Kay and I were all set to keep going
north by the time we got to Da Nang. Looks like we'll have to come
back one day.

Please pass our best wishes to all the crew who accompanied us. They
were good company and lots of fun.

From Brad Barry

The trip was awesome, everyone loved it and are talking about the next adventure.. Hopefully Cambodia??
I filled in the comment book with our thoughts, feel happy to quote my number if anyone would like to ask any questions.. We had a guy on the video and still camera the whole time so when i get a copy i will burn it and send it on to you..

From Trevor Starbuck

Just a quick thankyou for organizing the trip for myself and John, we both had an amazing time out there on the bikes. The route was full of great riding and very scenic along most of the way.

Our idea was to do the trip ourselves first, then invite others along with our next adventure.... I have a group of guys that will want to do a similar trip possibly early next year, and will plan another tour to travel the northern part of Vietnam later in the year.

Will let you know numbers shortly after the new year so we can reserve the bikes for the trip without conflict with other reservations.

Only comment would be to have a decent hotel for the last day in Hue arranged with a pool. Once you get off the mountain range and travel most the day in the heat.... it is worth a great deal to be able to relax and have a swim in a pool.

Give me a call when you are in town next, or possibly I will be in Nha Tran soonest.

Another special mention is Duyen staying in contact and adding valuable support and guidance during our entire vacation. She is precious !!!  Map also was very helpful and pleasant person to be around town during our 3 days in Nha Tran...

I can guarantee that our trip will generate a few tours from Oz and from over here amongst the expats I socialize with.

From Marco

Just a quick note to say thank you. The trip was an absolute success which
exceeded everyones expectations !

Your team are fantastic and would like to extend a special thanks to Bao who
is a great guide and lots of fun.

The trip had everything, we experience real culture and adrenalin ! It was
fair to say that the guys were not expecting to be as challenged as they
were.

We enjoyed every minute and are already talking about going back and doing
the second leg.

Please stay in touch.
Will send through some photos in due course.

From Ian and Janice

What can I say that has not already been said? From the time we met you and Jay at the airport and found out that we were the only people on the tour, it was VIP plus travel all the way.

From Map with her sign looking for Mr Wonton (Wooten?) & Mrs Merrett we knew we were going to be well looked after and we were. The journey from the airport was filled with interesting information about both Nha Trang and the tour.

Our hotel was lovely and you organising Map to take us shopping was an unexpected pleasure - thank you for that. The drinks at the shop, being able to choose our own bike and of course the lovely meal afterwards made us both feel extremely special.

Our guide Bao was amazing - his knowledge (& his brilliant English) continually surprised us. He taught us so much about his country that we are both keen to return.

From start to finish everything was so well organised. The accommodation and breakfasts were of a very high standard throughout. The meals that Bao introduced us to have made us long for more Vietnamese food.

We would (& will) recommend Vietnam Motor Bike Tours to anyone wanting a different sort of holiday that they will never forget. So thank you for all your organisation and kindness (particularly the Johnie Walker and the quail eggs) Jason and we can wait to return.

From Janice Merrett

Sorry I have been so slack in sending this email - too much catching up with family & friends and recounting my adventures!

As someone on the theraputic side of 60 who lacks confidence as a pillon passanger I was extremely uncertain of the wisdom of undertaking this seven day/six nights motorbike tour - particularly in a foreign country where they appear to drive like mainiacs - however I had the most amazing experience that I would not have missed for the world.

I would now recommend this adventure to even the most nervous nelly. The care that was taken of us, from the time we arrived in Nha Trang (thank you for meeting us at the airport Jason), to the arranged shopping trip with Map (again, thank you Jason), to the caring guide Bao's excellent guidance and experience that made it such a moving and memorable adventure; in fact made this the things that dreams are made of.

I hope that Jay is going well in WA and enjoying his new life style.

Please convey my sincere thanks to Bao for making it such a wonderful adventure - it was "All Good" from beginning to end.

Thank you so much Jason for providing such a brilliant holiday idea. I have not stopped telling family and friends of the wonderful, once in a life time holiday that I was privileged to have enjoyed.

From Mark and Lisa Ferrari

"Our tour started with Miss Duywen meeting us at the Nha Trang airport and transporting us in an air-conditioned van to our hotel.

The next day we were introduced to our new best friend, our tour guide Bao, who looked after us so well for the next 6 days. The bikes were easy to ride, the hotels were comfortable, the food was always great (even at the road side ‘cafes’) and the sights and scenery were breathtaking. Bao was always there in the morning loading up our bags onto our bikes and warming the bikes up for us. He was a wealth of information, invaluable with the camera and video (I ended up giving him my iPhone at the beginning of each day and just letting him take photos and video when he wanted to….he captured memories of a life time that we would have surely missed) and above all he was a very funny man! Jason was fantastic.

No question was too silly or small for him to answer. He made the trip easy to organise and plan for. We have raved about the trip to our motorbike friends and I’ve even been contacted by someone through Facebook (who saw that we’d been on the tour) for details about the tour and Vietnam Motorbike Tours. We would recommend anyone that wants to see the real Vietnam speak with Jason about the tours. You won’t regret it!"

From Clare

"Back home from our trip.  What can I say about our Vietnam Motorbike Tour:
It was without a doubt the best way to see the vastly diverse Vietnamese country and its cultures.  Every day presented us with new experiences & opportunities.

You expressed to me that I would enjoy the tour and would not be disappointed - You were right on both counts."

From Kellie Starick

"Was a great tour... very, very memorable for all the right reason.. Gina will even remember where she was, when she was, and why she broke that damn ankle!!! Lum, Houw and Jam Jar (Excuse the spelling!) where magnificent in their 'Tour leader " roles... We all loved everything about the trip.

Bikes where magnificent.. comfortable and very easy in the Vietnamese traffic... which I must say all of us would prefer to ride in any day as opposed to Perth traffic.... The weather was abit of a wild card... Thank god I took one pair of jeans!! but all of us where really syked up for days of wonderful hot conditions!! Having to buy wet gear and get a coat made up in Hoian where the tell tale signs!.

Will recommend your tours to many of our friends as we where more than happy with how it was all organized! We expereince such a vast exposure/contrast of Vietnames culture during those 9 days. Truly felt like we had been there for a couple of months! Time seemed to melt into ....... nothing!

We are looking to maybe doing a ride into Cambodia/Laos... are you interested in putting such a ride together for us? Would like to be able to send a few photos back to the "Crew". Do you have a contact mailing address for one of them? All the best and thanks for organizing........ was a great time had by all"

From Donald Heitman

"Thanks for the email .We all got home safe and sound. I certainly had a great experience. How,Lam and Jam-Jar are great people you could not get better ambassadors. They all had a good sense of humor were very professional and took us to some great places and made sure we were all safe and happy.Jam-Jar rode behind me for most of the trip, and I hardly knew she was there,Lak-lake and Hoi An were probably my favorite Places. I am recommending to people to have a go at the same trip, its not too short and not too long 9 or 10 days is a great length of time and you can do a lot of Kms in that time and it is a good cross section of Viet-Nam to see. One last thing.....can we please have the three guides email addresses. Many thanks to you and your great guides"

From Gina and Ian Looke
"Thanks for your e-mail. I made it home fine, had an op the next day and ankle is pinned and plated. Ian and I absolutely loved our time in Vietnam and especially the bikes. I loved my bike so much I cried when they all rode off without us ha ha.

We cant wait to go back and do some more in Vietnam and Cambodia as well. Lam and Jam Jar were great and Ian and I especially liked How (not sure of spelling). He does an amazing job at the back keeping everyone safe overtaking, STANDS UP etc and he did a wonderful job of ferrying me on the bike after I dropped it on my ankle, taking great care in dodging bumps and pointing out interesting stuff along the way.

I was so glad I was able to stay with the bikes until Hoi An and enjoyed my bit of being able to look around at everything. Please pass on our good wishes to the 3 guides and tell them we are looking forward to coming back. Tell How I will practice some more before coming !!"

From Cal Sexton
"Thanks Vietnam Motorbike tours for an incredible ride! Jason and his team are some of the most helpful, professional &  friendly people I have ever come across.  I would recommend this tour to anyone seeking to get off the ‘beaten track’ and visit villages that most other bike tours haven’t even heard of!"

From Hannah Rose-Jenkins
"The Vietnam Motorbikes was fantastic. We didn't really know what to expect at first but the staff were just unbelievable. They went out of their way to keep us entertained and educated. Whether it was a question about the history of a certain place or where we could get the best shopping, they were only too happy to help! The guys spoke brilliant English...probably better than me and they showed us the real Vietnam. It was the best 5 days I have had in all my travels and I couldn't recommend it enough."

From Drew Burkitt
"Two friends and I enjoyed the 12 Day Ride in mid 2010. We had varied
level of riding experience however found the bikes easy and enjoyable to
ride. The ride was well paced with adventures on and off the bike and
left extremely relaxed. We can't wait for our next tour."

Diane Scaysbrook
"Just wanted to thank you and your tour guides for the most amazing holiday of my life. What an fantastic country!

I have had my bike license for 30 years, ridden a lot of miles and seen some fabulous places but nothing compared to the adventure and sights of your tour.

The bike was comfortable, easy to manage in the traffic and great on the open road, it was perfect."

From John, Rosemarie, Pat and Cheryl
"We are four people in our sixties and did a six day tour with Vietnam Motorbike Tours.  We highly recommend the wonderful experience seeing the real Vietnam through the eyes of our experienced riders Lum, Hough, Yueng and Duc who educated and looked after us so well, plus they were a lot of fun.  Also Jason recommended our guide Duwen for our time in Ho Chi Ming City and Nha Trang which we found so helpful., such as where to exchange Australian dollars for dong, shopping, sightseeing and where to get a great lobster meal in Nha Trang. Duwen also looked after us and made us laugh.

We did the tour in March 2010 and Jason was flexible and most helpful in organizing our tour, we still are talking about our wonderful experience of seeing the countryside and the small industries which sustained the villages.  By the way we had never ridden a motorbike before and the boys made sure we coped well with our rides.

We went on to visit other parts of Vietnam after the tour, but cherished the six day bike ride and the food they ordered for us as the best part of our trip. The smiling faces of the children and calling  H e l l o as we drove past will always be in our memory.

We highly recommend seeing Vietnam this way."

From Jim Hamilton
"It is hard to imagine a better adventure than motorcycling through the amazing countryside of Vietnam  and meeting the real people.

There can be no better guide than Lam who, as well as being our guide, was also our interpreter and advisor on all things Vietnamese. But better than that he also introduced us to people we would never have got to meet including village chiefs and real hunting tribes.

Lams’ knowledge of the country was awesome and he took us to places you would never see with a large tour organization and everywhere we went he was warmly greeted by the locals. He also took us to restaurants which we would never have found by ourselves.

The Honda bikes were perfect for the 1000km journey and seemed to be almost new - and well looked after. I will never forget that first morning leaving Nha Trang in the brilliant sunshine and heading for our first overnight stop at Lac Lake.

Every hotel we stayed in was clean and comfortable and most were only a few years old. Lam of course knew which restaurants to visit and the best stuff to eat.

I would urge anyone with a craving for adventure to try this trip for a taste of the “ real “ Vietnam. You don’t need to be a biker since you can go as a pillion passenger if you prefer.

Lastly please send our best wishes to Ewing your assistant who showed us around Nha Trang on our first day and took us to a typical local restaurant to sample the lobster and crab dishes at ridiculously cheap prices.

On behalf of myself, my son Bruce and my daughter Nicola I would like to thank you again for the trip of a lifetime."

Dealing with VMT was a pleasure from start to finish and the addition of camera crews and other staff is usually a bit of a headache for most tour operators but not for Jason and his committed staff. I am privilliaged to have participated in many tours all over the globe and still regard my rides through Vietnam as the highlight of my many adventures! The scenery is postcard stuff, the food amazing, accommodation excellent and the guides I consider as friends for life.  Safe to say I fell head over heels for Vietnam and her wonderful people, all thanks to VMT.
