April 23rd
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM !!   For those up early, it’s a great time to check out the local markets and  streets of HCMC. 9am: We jump aboard our VIP mini bus and head to The Tunnels  of Cu Chi! An immense network of connecting underground tunnels used throughout  the American war, the 121km complex of tunnels at Cu Chi have been well  preserved by the government of Vietnam. Here, you are welcome to take a look  underground of the former base of operations for the Viet Cong. Above ground  there is also a lot of historic national history to take in, and a shooting  range where you can (for a fee) fire a number of assault rifles such as the M16  rifle, AK-47 and M60. Time for a good local lunch, then our return trip to HCMC  (calling in at the War Museum along the way). In the evening, you will then be  free to check out the hustle and bustle of HCMC at night, which features a wide  array of great restaurants and bars.

 April 24th
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Vung Tau
8am: Check-out from our hotel and transfer to the  docks located on the mighty Mekong River. All aboard heading south to Vung Tau  on a 1.5hr  boat journey. Vung Tau, once  famed and remembered as one of the most popular in-country rest and  recuperation (R&R) destinations throughout the American War, holds  beautiful and peaceful beaches that offered a relaxing respite from the  brutality of war just miles away. Vung Tau was used by the Americans,  Australians, New Zealand, South Vietnamese and their allies as an R&R  destination, but even the Viet Cong would go to the city for some rest and  relaxation of their own! After our hotel check-in, we enjoy lunch and head  across to visit the former Australian base camp of Nui Dat.  At its peak, the base at Nui Dat was home to  some 5,000 Australian personnel. Returning to Vung Tau, it’ll be time for our  own R&R, surrounded by the local cafes, bars and restaurants that line the  beach front. Enjoy an evening sip at a local beach front bar!

April 25th
Day 3: ANZAC Long Tan - Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang
4am: We will head for Ba Ria to join the dawn service at the Long Tan.  Service will commence at approximately 5.15am, when we will take in a very  moving memorial at the Long Tan Cross. Following the service, we will return to  our hotel for breakfast, check-out, then head off with a return boat Journey to  HCMC. Lunch will be followed by a 40 minute flight up to beautiful Nha Trang.  Vietnam's most famous seaside resort town is famed for its stunning coastline  and great year-round weather with an abundance of fine dining, cafes and bars.  Flights and transfers will have us arriving at our hotel around 5pm. Your  evening will be free, or you can join us at our preferred super-tasty  restaurant! Great food and super cold beers..!

April 26th
Day 4: Great ocean road of Nha Trang - Nha Trang (80km)
Let’s Ride..! For those who are up early, feel free  to enjoy a dip in the pool or stroll down the beach. 9am: We head over to the  VMT HQ  for our rider briefing. We are  located on a quiet road, perfect for a quick test ride..! A great relaxed start  to what's guaranteed to be an epic adventure. Riding along the winding  coastline, you can enjoy some outstanding views of the South China Sea. We soon  stop in at Bai Dai Long Beach, with a beach that stretches far as the eye can  see, lined with bamboo huts on the golden sandy shores.. Don’t forget to bring  your swimwear! Take a dip or relax while our lunch is freshly made. After  lunch, we will take an awesome afternoon ride, checking out some local villages  and country back roads. Then, in the evening, you can join us and the VMT team  for a delicious welcome dinner at BBQ Un In..!

April 27th
  Day 5: Nha Trang - Dalat (160km)
Today we ride into the stunning mountains and  countryside of the REAL Vietnam! With a little morning traffic, we are soon out  of Nha Trang and heading towards the Central Highlands. As we make our way up  the mountain pass, heading towards the hill top retreat of Dalat, you can enjoy  some breathtaking views from high up on the mountains. Famed as the ‘Swiss Alps  of Vietnam,’ Dalat holds some very unique European-influenced architecture and  has a cooler climate than the surrounding areas. Dalat was a popular respite  for commanders and war correspondents alike who were fortunate enough to escape  the front lines. Many strategies were devised here, though Dalat was largely  untouched by the fighting. However, it was in fact home to the National  Military Academy. Dalat today is famed as the city of love; partially owing to  its flower growing, it has become a popular holiday retreat for young  Vietnamese couples.  Evenings are cool  and the local night market is a must-see.

April 28th
Day 6: Dalat - Lak Lake (155km)
Ready to Ride? We’ve got another great day ahead!  Back in the saddle, we ride from Dalat to Lak Lake. Featuring winding back  roads that carve through coffee fields and rural farms, this is an outstanding  ride. Plenty of stops along the way allow us to try some local coffee and visit  an old (and very interesting!) silk-making factory. We will then pass through  some small villages, where you will see countless farmers tending crops  Vietnamese style! Roads in these parts are often shared by farmers and  livestock, children walking to and from school etc. So keep focused!
You‘ll soon get accustomed to the low speed riding  in Vietnam. Not only is at necessary for safety, but it also allows you the  time to really take in the sheer beauty of this truly incredible country. We  will then arrive at our overnight guesthouse, offering quality rooms with  aircon & wifi. Better still, we are located across from Lak Lake and the  surrounding rice fields! Not to mention the constant flow of passing  elephants.. Did anyone mention a cold beer too?! Local foods in these regions are  super fresh and tasty... Lak Lake  is  home to several minority tribes and some traditional villages that are well  worth taking the time to look at.

April 29th
Day 7: Lak Lake   - Buon Ma Thout (125km)
Easy start into today: We saddle up and ride into the Dak  Nong province, which was the scene of many conflicts and heavy bombing by the  US Airforce. Today these regions are farmed coffee plantations. The roads  winding through the regions provide not only great riding, but also a true  insight of this mighty country. Our lunch stop is at the impressive Dray Sap  waterfalls - great for dip while our lunch is prepared! Back out on the road,  our ride will have us arriving at our Boun Ma Thout Hotel around 3pm. Time to  relax, take a dip in the pool and sip a cool drink...
Special ANZAC bonus: During today’s ride, we will take you for a small visit  to a local school, where you will find out what it means to live as a local in  the real Vietnam. Here at VMT, we try to do anything we can to support the  locals, so we will be gifting some supplies whilst we are there. If you’d like  to help by donating any small items, you have a special opportunity here to do  so. We can assure you that they’ll go a long way and will be much  appreciated..!

April 30th
Day 8: Buon Ma Thuot - GM Doc Let Resort Remote Beach Paradise (220km)
Today we will break away from the extended ANZAC tour group, so after we  say our goodbyes to our fellow riders, we will head out of BMT for our 220km  ride through stunning mountain ranges and wide open valleys home to rich  farming lands. With views for miles ahead, we will pass an interesting array of  farming life, home made tractors, buffalos pulling ploughs, duck farming in  rice fields and much more. Some long stretches of open country, then as we  approach the coast, we pass by some interesting salt farms. The afternoon sees  arrive at what you can best call Paradise! Our resort is located on a beautiful  beach, with our villa-designed rooms offering a great sense of comfort. Take a  relaxing dip in the warm and crystal clear tropical sea! Just a short swim out,  there is a large rock that serves as a home to a huge array of colourful fish.  Handy to have some swimming goggles for this adventure! The resort restaurant  offers outstanding food, right on the golden shores of this incredible  location. Rest up and get ready for our final day of riding..!

May 1st
Day 9: Doc Let - Nha Trang(180km)
You won’t believe this place!!! We’ve got a great day of riding ahead for  our final leg of the adventure, so after a morning beach stroll and a dip in  the sea, we will set off back on the road. With our final destination of Nha  Trang in sight, this last stretch of riding includes some amazing coastal  vistas! We hit a straight section of road before passing through plenty of  local fishing villages and a harbour with a HUGE fleet of fishing boats. This  brilliant coastal section of road is carved into the side of a mountain that  drops down into the deep blue sea. Amazing views can be seen out towards the  nearby islands as we roll into Nha Trang and arrive at the VMT HQ. The  conclusion of this epic adventure includes an overnight stay in our Nha Trang  Hotel. Enjoy the night to say goodbye to your new friends and the VMT team and  crew!
