WELCOME TO

THE 10 DAY TOP GEAR MOTO 1 TOUR

After our great welcome dinner and a good nights rest, Good morning Vietnam! This is the day we have all been waiting for. Checked out & baggage loaded in our support van we head over to the VMT HQ for a detailed rider briefing. Meet the bikes and selecting your beast. We are located on a quiet road, perfect for a quick test ride. A great relaxed start to what's guaranteed to be an epic adventure.
Nha Trang Great Ocean Road-Vin Hy
Today we head south for beautiful Vinh Hy a small village located on the shores of Vinh Hy bay. To get there we ride along the great ocean road of Nha Trang with its incredible views out across to tropical islands that dot the South China Sea. Passing through Cam Ranh bay and across to the twisty seaside mountain road that leads us through a range of rarely seen rocky landscapes. This almost empty section of fine riding is often shared with local goats.
Day 2 : Vietnam : 165km
Nha Trang - Dalat
Nha Trang - Dalat
Helmets on !! Today through the gateway to Mighty Central Highlands a great ride and breathtaking views from high up on the mountains, whilst roadside waterfalls glisten in the sun along the way. Famed as the ‘Swiss Alps of Vietnam,’ Dalat holds some very unique European-influenced architecture and has a cooler climate than the surrounding areas.
Dalat was a popular respite for commanders and war correspondents alike who were fortunate enough to escape the front lines. Many strategies were devised here, though Dalat was largely untouched by the fighting. However, it was in fact home to the National Military Academy. Dalat today is famed as the city of love; partially owing to its flower growing, it has become a popular holiday retreat for young Vietnamese couples. Evenings are cool and the local night market is a must-see.
Day 3 : Vietnam : 160km
Dalat - Lak Lake
Ready to Ride? We’ve got another great journey ahead! Back in the saddle, we ride from Dalat to Lak Lake. Featuring winding back roads that carve through coffee fields and rural farms, this is an outstanding ride. Plenty of stops along the way allow us to try some local coffee and visit an old (and very interesting!) silk-making factory.
Dalat - Lak Lake
We will then pass through some small traditional villages, where you will see countless farmers tending crops Vietnamese style! Roads in these parts are often shared by farmers and livestock, waving children walking to and from school etc. So keep focused! By now you see our rides stand out in these remote regions and grabs a local of attention and welcoming smiles as we pass on through.
You‘ll soon get accustomed to the low speed riding in Vietnam. it also allows you the time to really take in the sheer beauty of this truly incredible country. But rest assured, there is a lot of fun to be had on these super twisty back roads.

Our great over night stay is located on the shores of Lak Lake these amazing wooded long houses are a real treat. Surrounded by rice fields and distant mountain ranges, "very popular with our riders.” Not to mention the constant flow of passing elephants…

Enjoy the relaxing views and great company with a ice cold beverage & superb foods. Lak Lake is also home to several minority tribes and traditional villages that are well worth taking the time to look at!

Day 4 : Vietnam : 125km
Lak Lake - Buon Ma Thuot
Easy start into today: We saddle up and ride into the Dak Nong province, which was the scene of many conflicts and heavy bombing by the US Airforce. Our guides and crew are a wealth of knowledge in the history through these regions which these days are mainly farmed coffee plantations. The roads winding through the small villages provide not only great riding, but also a real insight of this mighty country.
Day 4
Our lunch stop is at the impressive Dray Sap waterfalls - great for a dip while our lunch is prepared! Back out on the road, our ride will have us arriving in the afternoon time to chill by the pool or head out and visit the local markets.
Day 5 : Vietnam : 230km
Buon Ma Thuot - Kon Tum
Buon Ma Thuot - Kon Tum
Today we enter the mighty Ho Chi Minh trail "road". Not under estimating what seems like low mileage with fairly low speeds and super twisty roads each day is gauged just right and it just keeps getting and better! It’s like unfolding a treasure map. This is where most riders start commenting "The best ride they have ever done.“
More awesome roads, lush jungle altitude changes, minority villages and much more! Venturing deep and entering the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, we will show you the famed supply route that carves through the most remote mountain jungles of Vietnam. Rarely seen by the outside world. Used by the Viet Cong to send troops and supplies from North to South throughout the raging war, today the Ho Chi Minh trail is a joy for riders to behold. This incredible road is simply amazing!

Over the coming days you will see Vietnam from a truly unique perspective. This is true motorcycling adventure! You'll appreciate a cold beer after today's epic adventure which we will be more than happy to provide you with!
Day 6 : Vietnam : 180km
Kon Tum - Kham Duc
Kon Tum - Kham Duc
Saddle up for more riding bliss on Ho Chi Minh trail in all its twisting and undulating glory! Steeped in history, crucial to the war effort, vital to the life blood of Vietnam, it virtually speaks to you as you negotiate each turn. Lush green jungle covered mountain passes, wild rivers. This is where the bulk of the riding footage from that famous Top Gear special took place so soak it up and enjoy what will be one of the best days of your life!
As many of our riders state, they just can't believe the sheer beauty of these areas and the amazing roads which you simply have to see for yourself! Overnight we will stay at our Hotel in Kam Duc, Featuring an in-house kitchen that cooks some great meals. Plenty of cool drinks to be had, as always! ..
Day 7 : Vietnam : 300km
Kham Duc - Khe Sanh
l always have the Cold-Chisel song ‘Khe Sanh’ humming through my mind on this road... The twisting roads that follow Da Krong River hold views across outstanding scenery. Villagers can be seen taking care of the day’s washing in the river, this place is amazing! I really feel alive, my veins are always filled with ADVENTURE here! Old traditional handmade village huts line the roadside, making this a grand day on so many levels.
Kham Duc - Khe Sanh
Vietnam touches your heart in so many ways, rich in history, deep in culture. Feeling at one with my trusty iron horse. Sharing the experience with the VMT crew and like-minded riders is something that will stay deep with you as one your most incredible adventures. This isolated and rarely used section of road passes through majestic scenery close to the Laos border.

Day 8 : Vietnam : 160km
Khe Sanh - Hue
Hue - Khe Sanh
Our journey today has us winding down through mountain ranges towards the old imperial capital of Hue, based right in the centre of Vietnam. This point in the country almost serves as a divide between the North and South of Vietnam, Hue located on the banks of the Perfume River, was the national capital until 1945.
The Imperial Citadel is well known for its historic monuments, which have earned it a place in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Lane ways and side streets are filled with gift shops art galleries, cafes, bars and good restaurants.
Day 9 : Vietnam : 160km
Hue - Hoi An
Khe Sanh - Hue
Enjoy an awesome breakfast in this UNESCO listed heritage town! Hue is a city that is held close to the hearts of poets, romantics and musicians who keep the old ways relevant against the backdrop of a booming Vietnam. Enjoy the stunning architecture and relics of leaders and eras gone by, as we ride through the city and head out to the stunning coastal town of Hoi An. With its roots dating back to Portuguese traders in the 15th century, Hoi An’s colourful and diverse history is a joy to behold.
Time to crack open the throttle along the incredible Hai Van pass! This spot was Clarkson’s favourite stretch on the Top Gear Special, oh!! and a great place to get a custom suit or dress tailored. Evenings here are amazing along the local riverside with a great array of fine restaurants and bars .
